At Love Radiators we stock a wide range of practical, high quality valves from leading manufacturers to complement our extensive range of designer radiators. There are two main types of valve:
Thermostatic valves have an in-built temperature sensor which regulates the radiator's heat output to maintain the setting selected. These valves make it possible to limit the maximum room temperature and are particularly useful in rooms where fluctuations in temperature are experienced. It is important to always install these valves facing upwards or to the side to ensure they work correctly.
Manual valves do not contain a sensor, they are simply manually turned to the desired heat output. These more discreet valves allow individual radiators to be turned off without the entire central heating system being switched off. They are well suited to rooms where heating needs are fairly constant.
Before valves are selected, it is also important to consider where the pipes come from, the wall or the floor. Where possible, it is recommended that pipework comes from the wall to give the most aesthetically pleasing finish.
