Infrared heating arrived relatively recently to the home heating market yet although late to the party, it was definitely worth waiting for.
Our range of Infrared Radiators work in a very different way to the central heating radiators we are most familiar with. When close to conventional radiators, it’s possible to feel heat they conduct however, this is not where their power lies. They rely on convection to heat rooms which is the process by which heat moves through air. As hot air closest to the radiator becomes less dense it rises towards the ceiling whilst as it cools and its density increases, the opposite is true and it sinks towards the floor. This cycle circulates and distributes warm air throughout the room.
Infrared panels operate very differently, they heat objects rather than the air which is a far more energy efficient transfer of heat. Heat is transmitted, in the form of electro-magnetic radiation, directly from the heater to objects in the room which will absorb it such as the walls, furnishings and ultimately you.
To get the most out of this innovative heating source, it’s important to consider how it can be used best. The position of panels is crucial as it’s only the objects which panels are directed towards that will be heated. As these heaters are independent of any heating system, there is no need for any pipework. This allows much more flexibility when decisions are made about where to locate them, they can even be hung on the ceiling to provide heating from above.
This is infrared heating in a nutshell, if you would like any other information about infrared heaters, their benefits or points to consider before installing this type of heating, please contact The Love Radiators Team. We’d LOVE to help.
